Late 2007 the first Joomla 1.5 stable version was released, and it felt good. The problem is, a lot of the wealth of components and modules written for the old Mambo and Joomla 1.0.x don't work with this new framework. 1.5 is definately an improvement, so I prefer to use components which run natively on the 1.5 framework.
Thus, 90% off the former functionality is gone. I'll have to wait for updates. There's a new blogging component out which is Joomla 1.5 native, so I installed it. It works, but it's still pretty alpha. The basic features are there, but not the full range off blogging utilities I need. So migrating the MindBlizzard blog has to wait a bit. For the time being I will stick to blogging over at the old, familiar, MindBlizzard blog, and start working on expanding these pages in the coming weeks. Focus will be on creating a broad range of links to MDC's (Metaverse Development Companies), MSP's (Metaverse Service Providers), Virtual Worlds and updating the much consulted MindBlizzard Brand Directory for Brands which have a presence in Second Life. |

Welcome to the MindBlizzard website. As you can see this website is currently being restyled. Please read the blog here. Feel free to register and drop me a note if you want to help fill this site with exciting new content and news on the Metaverse. About MindBlizzard BlogCurrently the MindBlizzard blog holds about 600 articles written on Second Life, other Metaverses and Web 2.0 and has about 14,000 unique visitors per month (stats january, february 2008) and is produced with the Blogger blogengine. However, I'm getting fed up with the limitations of the system and want to move over to a new system. Content MigrationIn order to keep the wealth of information accessible I have to migrate these articles. If I'd like to keep my rankings I have to figure out ways to do this and keep the old URL in tact. So for the coming weeks I'll probably be fiddling with the system, dropping in categories and deleting them. Occasionally you'll see a new article appear. When all is done, you'll be notified on the blog when we finally move over. Bear with me, this may take a little time. |
